How to use it
Three steps. No signup.

- 03
Copy or download the format your server uses — .htaccess for Apache, map for nginx, or CSV.

About this tool.

Why use 301 redirects when moving pages?
A 301 tells search engines a page has moved permanently, so they transfer its signals to the new URL. Without redirects, old links and rankings point at 404 pages.
What is a redirect chain?
A chain is when A redirects to B, and B redirects to C. Each hop slows users down and can lose signals. Point A straight to C instead — this tool flags chains for you.
Why does the .htaccess output use paths?
Apache's Redirect directive matches the path of the old URL, so the tool strips the domain from old URLs. Query strings aren't matched by Redirect; the tool warns you when an old URL has one.
